Slavery

Have you ever wondered if your religion has ever been in favor of slavery? Well, today I'm going to talk about some of the big religions and their view on slavery. Most religions now will say they're against slavery but in the past well see which ones were for slavery.

The first religion I've researched about their view on slavery is Christianity. The religion of Christianity now is very anti-slavery but back when slavery was a thing: people would use verses to back it up. One verse being Ephesians 6:5-8 “Slaves, be obedient to your human masters with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of heart, as to Christ."

The second religion I viewed was Islam. The Quaran seems to be very serious and talks about murdering nonbelievers. Extremists such as ISIS have sex slavery so they view it as just any ordinary day-to-day thing.

In conclusion, you can see that every religion has once been in favor of slavery in the beginning and as time goes on their view tends to change. However, one thing about the Bible to me is it has an Old Testament and a New Testament which means there's a new law and an old law. The old law being the Old Testament and the new law being The New Testament.
