We as citizens should always be on watch over the government to make sure they aren't gaining more power than they already have in the government. An example of the government abusing its power would be a mandatory quarantine which they executed last year. Another issue we recently faced was the fraud of votes in last year's election with Joe Biden and Donald Trump. Watching nonbiased news will also help us Americans see the truth and act properly when we hear false info. We need to be more careful about trusting the government and fact-checking them constantly.
Another story that got my interest was the Surveillance Society. This just talks about how the government is keeping track of our every move and has records of everything we do. Whenever I see a camera now I just think of how the government is spying on us and barely anyone knows the truth. With new technology coming up the government will continue to spy on us and keep our data in their systems.
All of the branches should frequently be observed by the judicial branch as it's their job to keep the powers in check. An example of keeping the power in check is when the President wants a law passed; it goes to the Senate for them to vote, then the judicial branch makes sure it's constitutional. Keeping the government at a limited power is called checks and balances and was the framework for our country.
The founding fathers were well aware of the government being corrupt James Madison was the one who led the discussion that no branch should have more power than the other branches. One of his quotes saying “The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive and judicial in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self–appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny." We all should be grateful for the Bill of Rights as it has helped form our country in so many ways and kept it from going in a different direction. Another quote from one of the founding fathers that can be applicable for today's world is by Thomas Jefferson and says this "Experience hath shown, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."
In conclusion, I believe we should all look over the Bill of Rights and see how our government is avoiding the Separation of Powers. In conclusion, I believe we should all look over the Bill of Rights again and see how our government is avoiding the Separation of Powers. I believe that we will soon witness a lawsuit on the way: our government is: being run and how they aren't following any of their laws.I would like to end this with a quote "There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of justice."
